MATT WHITE HITS THE ROAD IN SUPPORT OF NEW SINGLE “LOVE” AND GAP’S “VOTE” INITIATIVE | News

Matt White is gearing up for a late summer tour hooking up with Kate Voegele on a month's worth of dates in support of his new single "Love" off his debut Geffen release Best Days. Along the way, Matt will be performing acoustically at select Gap stores in support of the iconic brand's 'Vote' initiative, which gives people a platform to express their ideas and opinions via the classic Gap t-shirt. During the in-store events, people can customize a FREE Gap "Vote for ____" t-shirt with whatever they feel passionate about. Earlier this month, Matt White created his own "Vote for Love" t-shirt, which he'll wear throughout the tour. The t-shirt can also be seen in Matt’s upcoming video for his song "Love," which was shot recently inside a New York City public bus and debuts this fall on video outlets.

hey everyone!

first and foremost, i hope you're all enjoying your summer.

sorry, it's been so long since i've written, but there is lots to catch you all up on!

my record label is about to release my 2^nd single, which is "Love" and will be on your radio stations soon, so please make sure to start requesting it. my song "Love" will also be featured in an upcoming mcdonald's commercial. which is amazing! i actually just got back from LA where I was filming my little cameo role in the spot. everyone at mcdonald's and arnold (the ad agency) were super cool. i'm pretty sure that the commercial starts airing on september 1^st.

i'm also about to shoot the video for "Love", which i'm so excited about, because we're shooting it in my hometown of new york city.

let's see, what else, oh yeah… i'm leaving on thursday for a little summer mini-tour, so make sure to check my website for all of the dates and come see me if you live in a city nearby the shows. i'm completely honored to be opening for the legendary B.B. King at his show in new hampshire. i'm also about to announce a bigger tour that goes from august 11^th – september 11^th, so stay tuned for those (and, yes! i'm finally coming to the west coast!).

canada, here I come! i'll be playing some shows with Sheryl Crow as well as some of mine own shows the last week of september/first week of october, so check out my website for those dates and more will be added soon. i think my album comes out there on september 2^nd.

lastly, the people have spoken and selected a winner from salt lake city for the people's choice contest. i'm so looking forward to getting into the studio and recording the new version of "New York Girls" and going to the people's choice awards show with the winner in january.

Matt wants to let you know about this amazing contest that the folks at People’s Choice have put together with his song “New York Girls”. The winner will go to NYC to watch Matt record in the studio and will also go to Hollywood to walk the red carpet with Matt at the People’s Choice Awards show!

So, as most of you know, Matt wrote his album, 'Best Days', in New York City where he’s lived for a long time. New York City is known for its eclectic people, which is the main reason why he wrote the song, "New York Girls", but Matt has noticed from touring this great country of ours that there are some pretty interesting and fun people in every city.

So here’s the deal! Check out Matt’s little web video for “New York Girls” and pay attention to the chorus: “New York girls are crazy.” Now grab your video cameras and find the coolest spot in your hometown. It could be a monument, park, building -- anything you want. Then film yourself singing the song, but instead of singing "New York Girls", what you need to do is sing the name of your city, so... If you're from LA, you'd sing "LA girls are crazy" or if you're from Cleveland, you'd sing "Cleveland girls are crazy.” You get the point.

After you've shot your video, you’re going to upload it to PCAVote.com. Submissions will be accepted from June 16th – June 29th. Then the best 3 videos will be featured on PCAVote.com where people will vote on their favorite. That voting starts on July 7th and ends on July 13th.

Now here’s the best part! If you're the winner, you will be flown to New York to watch Matt record a new version of “New York Girls” that will be personalized with the name of your hometown. Then you and a guest will be flown to Hollywood, California, to attend the live broadcast of the People’s Choice Awards in January hosted by Queen Latifah.
